In the aftermath, over 230,000 people lost their lives to the tsunami – with more than 35,000 victims in Sri Lanka alone.

Twenty years later, the memory of that day is indelible in the heart of Sri Lankan people. However, several gaps and challenges remain in the preparedness for the next disaster.

Through the stories of 10 survivors, community leaders, academics and disaster risk reduction experts, this film doesn’t just reflect on the past: it offers a roadmap to resilience for the future.
